Typical first film

A Customer from Sheffield, 21st September, 2008

I liked this film. It isn't a 'must see' but I don't think it deserves the low rating it has received here and elsewhere. It's low budget, grainy and a bit like a student film. The story isn't a new one (rich kids vs poor servants) but it's well played and the cinematography is good.

Good film covering barely 24hrs in time.

A Customer from London, 6th December, 2008

Like 'Dazed and Confused' this movie seems to cover a lot of nothing over less than 24 hours, but I like this too. Almost a fly on the wall type movie following the social life of rich Mexican siblings and their friends.

Ouch!

A Customer from Nottingham, 1st November, 2008

As much as I adore Gael García Bernal, I just couldn't bring myself to see this movie through to the end. I managed to sit through around half of the movie, but it was just completely unable to hold my attention for any longer. I love all of his other work, but this is a movie that should be forgotten!

Poor debut

A Customer from London, 31st October, 2008

I must admit that Gael is a great actor but his debut as a director shows us that he should have never jumped to behind the camera. This movie is just like watching an episode of the OC but in Mexico City. I am a Mexican national and even understanding the background and slang completely; this film is just a very bad Mexican sop opera. Please stay away from this movie and if you want to see some good Mexican movies you can try the following: -Cronos by Guillermo del Toro -Deep Crimson by Arturo Ripstein -Midaq Alley by Jorge Fons -Japon by Carlos Reigadas
