Hrithik Roshan is teamed for the first time with Kareena Kapoor in this sprawling melodrama from master showman Subhash Ghai, whose Taal was the first masala to make the US box-office charts. An increasing number of Bollywood movies are being filmed abroad and this one explores the problems facing emigrant parents whose children simply don't see the relevance of traditional Indian values. The focus is firmly on the young lovers, but it's Jackie Shroff and Anang Desai who turn in the more nuanced performances as the restaurant owner and business tycoon, whose class rivalry stands in the way of true love.
