From the creators of the Naked Gun films, and starring the creators of the South Park series, comes a spoof of sports and business and anything else that can draw a hearty laugh. Two best friends (Trey Parker and Matt Stone) create "baseketball"--a sport that combines baseball and basketball--and when their silly idea catches on, they are thrust in the spotlight and become media darlings, much to their chagrin.

Rating of 3 stars out of 5
Radio Times

Unfairly denied a British cinema release after a disastrous US run, this sports spoof from director David Zucker (who made Airplane!, and the first two Naked Gun movies) is wildly offensive fun. It stars South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who play a pair of infantile slobs who invent a popular new game that combines the hoops of basketball with the runs of baseball — and a few sick twists of their own. There are more hits than misses in the slapstick gags, ultra-crude humour and numerous nods to sport, movies and South Park. There's also an eclectic cast that includes Robert Vaughn, Baywatch's Yasmine Bleeth and Ernest Borgnine, making this ideal Friday night fodder.

Anyone can be a sports star

Breetrace from London, 20th January, 2004

One of my all time personal faves, this film is inventive and absolutely hilarious. Even funnier the second time round. Originally written by David Zucker (Naked Gun, Top Secret) the film has been over run by South Park gang, Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The story follows two unlikely athletes from their life as bums to Basketball sport super stars, and as normally happens anywhere near these boys, everyone gets dragged along for the journey.

could just be my sense of humour but the first time i watched this film i almost collapsed from lack of oxygen from laughing. from the other reviews i must assume it is not to everyones taste but all my friends have seen it and said the same thing, if more comedys where like this no one would go out.

Silly but fun

A Customer from Sheffield, 15th July, 2004

This film was recommended to me by a friend (always risky!) but if you like the sillyness of something like Waynes World then this is for you. It is based on the premise that sports goals have become more of an attraction than the actual sport and two friends come up with a new sport on their front yard. When the love interest comes along the friends start to argue etc etc - not very original I know but some good laughs along the way

Pure genius.

Martin Edwards from Crystal Palace, London, 19th August, 2004

The crass writing of a Zucker with the flawless character work and total commitment of Trey and Matt. Another way - they take a kid waiting for a liver transplant on a tequila binge. And despite the huge hurdle of that being a terrible, obvious set piece - it's hilarious. If you like Trey and Matt's stuff and you like what a Zucker does (remember Kentucky Fried Movie?), this is sublime!
BTW, there are some execrable moments too. Ignore both of them.

Donīt Torture Yourself

A Customer from London, England, 17th June, 2008

An EXTREMELY pathetic attempt at making a comedy-type film. If you like immature/kiddie humour (i.e. far below the level of dodgeball & anchormanīs type of humour), watch a 13-year old play with his mates - theyīll probably be more funny and entertaining than this film. The people who directed, produced and starred in this film should REALLY be sued for releasing such a horrible movie.

Classic Parker & Stone style

missyreicheru from from Glasgow, 15th March, 2008

excellent, so much better than I thought it would be, it was stupidly funny with a few gross out moments but they pull it off so well. This game should be introduced to schools! You have to watch it, it's really funny!
