Almost Good

'Vengeance' had all the potential to be a very good, non Hollywood film. A good set up from the start, a-typical characters, solid plot and deepening story. Unfortunately, because it doesn't reach it's potential, the second half drifts along. If it were stretched an extra 20 minutes so all motives and actions were explained, it would be a lot more successful. Worth a watch, but don't cancel plans to see it

Didn't get it

Not my bag, not sure why but maybe I just couldn't get beyond Johnny Hallyday's fascinating and frightening facial features. Like all Johnnnie To efforts it does at least look stylish, and Macau's colonial architecture makes a colourful backdrop.
