This is well written and well casted. The beginning tells you a crime has been commited but you do not know until the case has been to court and we are told the outcome. It can leave you bemused, angry or satisfied which is reality over outcomes in life. There are sub - plots as well, Kavanah's family life. His relationship with his wife and children. The children's problems or success' are aired as well. The episode was a good length so as to fit all this in. I found it a very solid story which gives an insight into the law at work.

Brilliant

I'm watching this whole series and I love the fact that each episode has an intelligent plausible meaty story to it. Also the personal lives of the main chars and Kavanagh's family are really explored. Love it! If you are a fan you'll love it. If you are not give it a shot

Who would have thought that yet again John Thaw has done yet another good programme? Not a complete fan of his craggy features but he cannot fail to make anything he stars in a hit. Every series he does just gets better and better.Being a court-room drama, how can it possibly be boring? So set aside an evening and give it your attention - you will not be sorry
