Short but Sweet

Graham Findlay from Peebles, 7th September, 2004

This disc shows the infamous first live recording of the Roses. The show goes horribly wrong when the sound system fails leaving Ian Brown shouting at the top of his lungs...Amateurs fu***** Amateurs!!

Worth it for that alone.

stone roses live

grahamnewlands from , 6th April, 2008

i believe this is the only commercially available live performance by the stone roses available on dvd. looks like it would have been a great gig on that nice bouncy floor at blackpool.if you have seen ian brown/stone roses live it wont come as a surprise but the only real problem is the vocal quality, having been used to the polished and possibly over produced quality on the albums it's dissapointing hearing him live. however it is fairly easy to overcome the problem, just sing a long as you watch it and it doesnt seem to bad!

Pure Gold

This is a must see for any Roses fan, this is where it all began and some might say(not a deliberate reference to those inferior Mancs) ended. Chippie Jumpers and Flares were all the rage and the 'E' scene took off.

Very disappointing but not surprisingly so!

A Customer from Cheshire, 26th July, 2005

The Stone Roses, where definitely the group for the Madchester generation. Unfortunately for DVD fans that generation was about clubbing, taking drugs, listening to music (before it was made only for 10 year old girls) and chilling out. This just does not translate onto this DVD, the live performances are badly recorded and do no justice to the charisma of TSR performing live, while the videos are just poor and dated (remember that TSR’s main success came with their first album and there was no big budget for the videos so this is really to be expected). Much better to buy the CD and listen to what should have been one of the great rock bands of all time, but for politics and money. Than watch this disappointing DVD.
