When a pre-med student falls for the Prince of Denmark, life seems to complicate itself very quickly. |

Anybody older than a teenager may find it hard to swallow this far-fetched fantasy — in which a young American finds a real-life Prince Charming — but it's likely to be lapped up by adolescent girls. Julia Stiles plays a hard-working undergraduate whose dreams of becoming a doctor are threatened when she falls for a handsome fellow student (Luke Mably), who turns out to be the Crown Prince of Denmark. Director Martha Coolidge has created a modern fairy tale, a world in which women can have it all — though they may have to embrace heartache and make sacrifices along the way. It's slushy nonsense overall, but the likeable performances from Stiles and the Prince William-like Mably give it a feeling of warmth.
