solid, intelligent entertainment

A Customer from Leeds, 17th May, 2005

Despite being derided by a few for some obvious influences (One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest), The Jacket is by far the rip of they make out. It is atmospheric, excellently shot and the acting is engaging throughout. It starts off unnerving and chilling but as it progresses and you become used to the situations, you become heavily involved. A well-made film all round; keeps the attention, thought-provoking and a fantastic story.

Keeps you gripped.

WildWeb from Dorset, 23rd September, 2005

It's kind-of like The Butterfly Effect - only he needs a jacket and a very tight space in which to travel through time. A good watch with a great ending. Recommended.

Fantastic

FilmReviewer from Greater Manchester, 14th September, 2005

I can't go into detail without ruining the plot. I'm a fans of movies which use special effects to compliment the film rather than hide a weak plot and this is that kind of film.

Excellent plot and excellent acting. Brilliant ending and brilliant ideas. I now even believe Kiera Knightly can act. We need more films like this rather than forumlated drivel which is mass produced and marketed to the 18-25 sector. This film was made by movie lovers rather than accountants.

The Jacket

Smoggie from The Boro, 19th November, 2008

The Jacket being that of the 'straight' type, and the poor guy who gets locked into the corpse drawer to make him 'better' after the brutalities of being at war, then coming home being in not too good a condition...!! A top notch thriller, during which you want the good guy to blow the bad guys brains out... lol... A bit spooky and thought provoking, it's certainly worth a watch.

Thought provoking

FRB from , 9th October, 2008

Captivating and engrossing. The four central performances were all very good. The film was tantalizingly ambiguous in a way that really made you think about its central themes.
