This spin-off of the popular X-FILES television show is a decidedly more comedic take on conspiracy theory, featuring three hacker geniuses with limited social skills who often came to the aid of Sgt. Scully and Lt. Mulder. John Byers (Bruce Harwood), Melvin Frohike (Tom Braidwood), and Richard Langly (Dean Haglund) are on a mission to fight all manner of corporate and government intrigue, using their superior technological acumen and tricked-out equipment. They also put out a small publication, intended to educate the masses about these matters, which unfortunately enjoys a less-than-healthy circulation. The group, always short on money, acquires a benefactor in the form of one Jimmy Bond (Stephen Snedden), a wealthy but somewhat dense young man who is sympathetic to their cause. The Gunmen are also plagued by the wily and beautiful Yves Adele Harlow (Zuleikha Robinson), who is always a step ahead of the boys, and possesses looks and financial resources, in addition to hacking skills equal to the their own.

For X files fans

jerry moorhouse from Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. England, 16th July, 2005

Fans of the X-files will know well the characters of Byres,Langly and Frohicke, the dedicated hi-tech nerds who spend their lives trawling through websites and databases in order to foil government conspiracies and expose cover ups. This series follows the exploits of these anti heros as they fumble their way through nine quite bizzare episodes. The series has plenty of humor injected into the scripts, and although the subject matter is always peculiar, it should be remembered that the whole thing was done with tongues very firmly in cheeks.Tom Braidwood, who plays Frohike, was one of the original producers on the X files, and this shows in the quality of the episodes. I enjoyed the series a lot, so if you do watch it remember, its supposed to be silly!!

Top Notch TV

Lee from UK, 3rd June, 2006

I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this show, even though the Lone Gunmen where some of my favourite characters from the X-Files. For me spin offs are generally not all that good. However I was pleasantly surprised by this one as it delivered in almost every aspect. The Gunmen where always the lighter side of the X-Files and they have brought this through with this series and introduced new characters like the delectable Yves Adele Harlow and Jimmy Bond who fit in nicely with the Gunmens world. My main and only gripe with the show is the stories which sometimes evolve into the plain weird and odd but this hardly detracts from its charm. Sadly the show only lasted the one season which is a shame as it was better than the later seasons of the lacklustre X-Files.

5*'s: Love them with Mulder or A-Lone!

A Customer from Stirling, Scotland, 9th May, 2006

A great series in which the genius techies behind Mulder get their own showcase! Originally the fact this is a spin-off from X-Files did concern us that it may not reach it's reputation so we only added the first disk to our list- now we are adding the rest! These guys really show they can act, and add lots of humor into the story without detracting from it or making it just plain slapstick. We finally get to explore the characters behind them to a much greater depth and get the idea of what goes on with their own investigations for the paper. Although don't worry if the conspiracies of extra terrestrial entities found in X-files is too much for you, these are much more technology & people centred (or more grounded i suppose), much of it steming from true life happenings and hearsay. A must for anyone even slightly interesed (maybe just get the first disk to try it out!?) 5*'s

lone

twigg from from Flint, 11th April, 2008

What can i say about this it started as a good idea but i personally feel that the lone gunmen should have stayed with the x files. Some good episodes but the rest were very disjointed a big disapointment.

Conspiracy anyone?

Peter Brookes from Barnstaple, England, 13th August, 2007

If you like conspiracy theories then this series is for you! From beginning to end I thoroughly enjoyed the antics of the Lone Gunmen. The series is not as serious as the X-files and has a comical feel. There are a few additions to the cast of three (a foxy female and a handsome jock type). Even though this is to attract the 'youth' market the characters are viable and fit into the group easily. Watch with pleasure!

Fantastic

A Customer from Sheffield, England, 5th April, 2007

One of the best things I've seen in a long time. Chris Carter has surpassed himself. Heres to hoping one of the UK channels picks it up soon.
