Another Korean hit !

Gary Sweetapple from London, 30th November, 2005

Having already seen this before its release here, it features the brilliant acting of Min-sik Choi, 'the guy from old boy' ! Also features Seung-beom Ryu who was seen in the western world on DVD in the film Arahan. The story is about two guys, one convict, the other a retire washed up boxer, the storytelling is really really perfect, there are basically two stories being told on the lifes of the two leads as they both enter a boxing competition. You feel for both charactors and the twist of the storytelling unlike other boxing movies is that the two 'good guy' leads do not meet until the final showdown of the film when they face eachother, you are left watching the screen not knowing who to cheer for, who is going to win or what is going to happen... and neither am I going to tell you, a great twist on sports story telling, even if you dont like boxing this is a must see. The acting is excellent, some parts drag but overall you wont feel cheated after the credits are rolling.

Knock-Out

Flint Steel from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, 28th November, 2006

Quick review... Ready ? Old Boy meets Rocky - it's as simple as that. However, this is a great film and worth a watch.

Very moving

Anthony Stanhope from England, 10th October, 2006

Crying fist has an ending that will leave you quite simply torn between the two main characters and who you should be rooting for. Very powerful stuff that would bring a lump to the throat of even the most hardened of men.

Much better than Rocky!!

dannylakins from from Grantham, 8th October, 2008

This is a really beautiful film... I originally rented it just for Choi Min-Sik, the 'guy from Oldboy', not really expecting too much from the film, but now I couldn't recommend this enough. This film does a brilliant job of showing people's pure frustration... and trying their hardest to bottle it up and put it into something more... noble. The acting is top notch, the film looks great and there's a ridiculous amount of emotion that will most definently leave you with a tear in your eye. Also, the actual boxing is great, a lot more realistic than most cheesy boxing movies, and full of tension. 100% Recommend!!!

a boxing film that makes you cry

A Customer from Farnborough, 3rd May, 2008

I don't normally feel emotion in a boxing film, this one is an exception. Prepare some issue put beside you when watching the film just in case you might cry. Recommended.

A bit flat!

hope2 from from Luton, 28th April, 2008

Not the film I was expecting. Quite a slow and unneccessarily long film. Fan of Korean films but this one falls short.
