superb..................

williamsgwynfa from , 18th September, 2007

this dvd set is superb. This series follows the life of CIA agent Stan Smith and his family. There's Francine, the loving housewife who has plenty of adventures of her own. Hailey, Stan's liberal daughter whose views constantly conflict with those of her ultra-conservative father. Steve, the nerdy son who is just trying to get by in life. Roger, an alien from Area 51, who has been forbidden to leave the house, has made himself obsessed with television. and Klaus, a German Olympic skier whose brain has been trapped inside the body of a goldfish. The episodes are: The pilot episode - Steve tries to become the student body president, and Roger is forced to go on a diet. 'Threat Levels' - Francine gets a job in estate agency. Hailey tries to help the homeless, only to have Stan and Steve take the homeless people, for their own moneymaking scam. 'Stan Knows Best' - Hailey gets a job at a strip club, and Steve tries to get a date, by taking advantage of Roger. -'Roger Codger' - Stan's boss comes over for dinner, and fears that he may discover that Roger is being kept in the house. 'Francine's Flashback' - Due to an error on the part of a CIA lab technician, the last two decades of Francine's memory are erased. 'Homeland Insecurity' - When neighbours of Middle-Eastern descent move in by the Smiths, Stan thinks they are terrorists due to their ethnicity. 'Deacon Stan, Jesus Man' - Stan wants to become the new deacon at his church, Steve is in love with his rival for the position, Roger begins going through a reproductive cycle. 'All About Steve' - Stan is determined to show his friends that Steve is a masculine, hard-working son - only to reveal that he is a geek. 'Bullocks to Stan' - Hailey falls for Stan's boss, Deputy Director Bullock. However, since he's up for a promotion, he considers not intervening, in high hopes that he'll get it. 'A Smith in the Hand' - Roger aims to better himself. Steve's school is doing sexual education. 'Con Heir' - Stan's father pays a visit to the family, and he is greatly enthusiastic about the return of his Father - much more so than the rest of his family. 'Stan of Arabia' (Two Parter) - The Smiths move to the Middle East , when Stan gets a 'promotion' to work in that region of the world. They quickly discover the ups and downs of the Eastern world. A great series.

American Dad!

A Customer from not where i wanna be, 19th February, 2006

American Dad! (from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane) is the animated story of Stan Smith, who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm - as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members; there's Roger the sarcastic space alien who Stan rescued from Area 51 (resenting the fact he's not allowed to leave the house) and Klaus, a lascivious German speaking goldfish, the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong!

American Dad at it's best. This is a 'Must-See'. If you like American Dad anyway, you have to see this series. Everything that Roger (The Alien Lodger) comes out with is hilarious. I must have watched each episode of there about 10 times! Definatley recommend.

Better than Family Guy

Cromwell from , 29th September, 2009

You don't have to like family guy to like American Dad I am a big hater of Family Guy, what with its annoying voices and stupid characters I have the urge to destroy the TV when it is on. But American Dad I find refreshing and no part of it annoying. All of the characters are amusing in their own ways and all contribute to the whole show. You will get addicted once you start!!!

American Dad better than Family Guy

Barrie from North Yorkshire, England, 17th November, 2008

Yes. Its true, American Dad is better than Family Guy. The characters are friendlier, funnier and don't seem to be trying as hard as Family Guy characters. I love Family Guy but I adore Amercian Dad. Best bits? Everytime Patrick Stewart's smooth voice speaks of ridiculous things, truly the unexpected is extremely funny. Check out Stan's heated response to Francine in 'Roger 'N' Me' 'SANDWICHES!' Hilarious.
