Harder than toast

This is a terrific game which seemed to go under the radar somewhat when released on xbox. It looks great and is one of the most satisfying games out there when it goes right BUT OH MY GOD IS IT HARD. Even with four hardened gamers with little else to do (read: students) the higher levels were a distant prospect on normal difficulty. Complete it and shower yourself in kudos.

Fantastic

Quite easily one of the most difficult yet most enjoyable and gripping games you will ever experience. You play as ninja named Rya Hayabusa, of the Hayabusa Ninja Clan. And what a ninja he is, i can safely say without any doubt he truely 'feels' like a super ninja to control. The game controls are fluid, Rya himself responds exactly how you could imagine a ninja would do given the situation. Every effort has gone into making this game the very best it could be, the differences from the original ninja gaiden are slight however, i played right through the original and am still finding this a great pleasure. Its difficult very difficult but that is purely because i opted to play it at its most 'real' setting. Simply die 3 times on the first chapter and you get the option to play it on its easy setting 'ninja dog'. The best addition to ninja gaiden black is the 'lunar staff' a new weapon that is basically an upgradeable staff. And doesnt Rya know how to use it!! The whole game feels faster and even more polished than the already sparkling original. I like this so much that i bought it. I dont know what it is but my collection feels almost complete now, and at a mere £9.98 from GAME available on the Xbox Classic Collection, it would simply be dude not too.

Goodie but Toughie

I enjoyed Ninja Giaden a lot, until a kept dying in the same fight for the fiftith time. While great gameplay the diffculty is unforving. I got so angry, that I keep dying during the boss fight, and then having to play a whole 1/3 of the level again, fighting my way through 10 ninjas (don't ask)I sealed in the envelope and sent it back. Wish I hadn't know.
