very very funny!

A Customer from Lincs UK, 7th November, 2004

What I like about this is the way Rowan Atkinson turns around the traditional Xmas Carol storyline. So instead of starting off really mean he starts off a really happy chap then as he sees the visions of his ancestors.. well I won't give it away but maybe you can guess!

Also brings in the Blackadder periods of the series too which is a bonus.

This is a must see every Xmas and I never ever get tired of watching it!

Good to see Rowan Atkinson doing what he does best

Jean Atkins from Cumbria, England, 23rd July, 2004

One of the worst things Rowan Atkinson did was to adopt Mr Bean. He is far better playing the clever, amoral cynic - and that is what he is (or becomes) in this wry take on the old classic. Subtly witty and entertaining

Brilliant

A Customer from Selkirk, 26th September, 2005

This is absolutely brilliant and should be seen as often as possible. In the traddition of Blackadder it is hilarious. They should bring this comedy back for all to see.

Black(adder) Christmas

WebWeasel from Somerset, 13th November, 2004

To borrow a line from the man himself: "Well it started badly, and it tailed off in the middle, and the least said about the end the better!"

In my opinion (and as I hope you can tell, I am a fan) this marks the beginning of the end of the Blackadder franchise by milking it to death. The twist? Blackadder starts off as a nice guy but reverts to type by the end. Oh, plus some shameless padding from Blackadders past (Elizabethan, Regency, and parodoxically, a decidedly dated Future)

It has its moments, but I can't see how the BBC can possibly justify selling a one hour Christmas Special on it's own and with no extras whatsoever. An attitude Scrooge himself would have been proud of.

A Truly Spoofy Christmas

A Customer from Sussex, 17th March, 2010

A great seasonal treat turning Dickens' humbug upside down in the true Blackadder spirit and still our heroes come out the wrong side up.

Perfect Christmas Eve Viewing!!!!

A Customer from Wolverhampton, 10th December, 2009

This festive episode although quite short, is very funny indeed and perfect for Christmas Eve viewing. I have never seen the 'Blackadder' series before but decided to give this a chance after an enthusiastic recommendation from a family member. I shall definitely look into renting the four series's in the near future. :)
