Shame

Very poor picture quality for a Blu-Ray, much darker than the normal DVD. I would not bother with this version.

Horrific Horror???

Who in their right mind thought, 'I know, we'll put Bram Stoker's Dracula on Blu-ray!'. This is the worst film that I've ever started to watch. I gave it 20 minutes (which was only bearable due to the comedy factor) but couldn't bear the pure horror, not of Gary Oldman's rubbish Wether's Originals eating Dracula, but the awful English accent the Keanu Reaves was putting on. I always thought that this was meant to be a classic but it was just the most gobsmackingly horrific film in existence. Otherwise, it was excellent.

Excellent!

I really can't understand the negative reviews on this movies PQ...it is amazing! I watched this on my Sony PS3 via HDMI on my HDTV and it was extremely good. Rich detailed colours, vibrant & sharp, sooooo much better than the SD version...Yes, there is some film grain, but this was Coppola's intention. Blacks are really inky & deep & contrast is spot on....Maybe the other reviewer was watching a different movie...? Highly recommended!!!

I don't think they did it badly, it's just the way they wanted the film to look like originally anyway so I'm not sure the Blu-Ray option makes much of a difference This said, the story, the music and the settings are a s good as I remember them in the cinema.

Very, very silly film

This is a very silly film. Lots of acting talent on display to help Coppola channel his inner Corman. Alternatively, this may be a pretty accurate representation of the book: which wouldn't surprise me given the very, very silly nature of most 19th century fiction of this type.
