Not really worth the effort

Paul Howell from West Yorkshire, England, 2nd January, 2008

My wife and I actually went to see 'The Golden Compass', but could not get in, so watched this instead. Wish we had not bothered. Christian did act it well, and looked totally different to any other role he has played before, but to be honest the storyline was quite weak, and drawn out. Some very wierd scenes, and not even a good twist at the end, more like a cop out. Don't want to give too much away, but overall a very poor film.

Watch this film!

Kevin Davis from Twickenham, England, 10th April, 2008

I saw this on the plane and absolutely loved it. It's hard to recognize Christian Slater in this role, but he played it brilliantly. If you like something different and offbeat you will enjoy this. One of his best.

I liked it.

Katnip from from High Wycombe, 20th July, 2008

After reading some of the other (1star) reveiws I was not at all looking foward to watching this, however I found this to be an extremely enjoyable film. Dont expect fast paced action, just sit back and enjoy the story told. Christian Slater played the character very well, two thumbs up.

Great film.

It is an awesome film, possibly the best i've seen. I cannot believe that Christian Slater did not get an Oscar for this performance. A MUST SEE.

Very poor film

A Customer from London, 15th August, 2010

Not much else to say - just awful from start to finish. What a waste of some talent on this poorly conceived film.

Strange and weak

Lisajaynew from , 9th August, 2010

What a strange film. Christian Slater was good but a weak story line made it a forgettable film. I didn't feel comfortable about it while watching it and was quite disappointed with the ending. I'm a big Christian Slater fan and even that couldn't win me over.

A fairly mundane concept but not a bad movie.

H0LLIE from , 24th July, 2010

The depressed office worker who wants nothing more than to kill his co-workers and then blow out his own brains. Bleak and depressing to say the least. But here there is a slight alteration to the usual fair in that said office worker becomes the hero, not the villian. Christian Slater gives a fantastic performance as the would be murderer, and in fact, all of the cast do well here. The direction seems a little forced though, an attempt at bringing you into the mindset of the manic depressive fails to do so and instead looks pretty derivitive of other movies of this kind. The score fits well and the minor use of special effects is effective enough. But you need to be a fan of this genre of film to enjoy this, it's not likely that this will convert anyone into a fan of heavy dramas. So if you like this kind of film you're likely to enjoy this. If you don't then you won't.
